Haxe
The Haxe
For centuries, warriors carried both axe and hammer—each vital, each with limits. The Haxe unites them: a blade for cleaving and a hammerhead for crushing, giving fighters the adaptability to cut through mail or smash through plate without switching weapons. Versatile and brutal, it embodies the practicality of medieval hybrids designed to counter any foe.
Description
Sword Masters Challenge’s Haxe is an 85 cm LARP weapon featuring a 16 cm axe blade on one side and a hammerhead on the other. Both ends are sculpted and hand-painted to resemble forged steel with engraved crosses, while safely crafted from foam for combat. A ridged metal-textured shaft and suede-wrapped 12 cm grip offer both realism and control. Built from closed-cell foam around a 10 mm fiberglass core with a latex finish, it balances durability, safety, and style.
History
Inspired by late medieval hybrid weapons, the Haxe recalls when smiths combined hammerheads or spikes with axes to deal with both shields and plate armor.
