The Viking Battle Axe
When the longships struck the coast, it was the axe that led the charge. More than a tool, it was the weapon of survival and conquest, cleaving shields, splitting helms, and dragging enemies from their shield wall. For jarls, raiders, and kings alike, the axe was both a weapon of dominance and a symbol of Norse strength. To fall with it in hand was the warrior’s path to Valhalla.

Description
Sword Masters Challenge’s Viking Battle Axe is an 80 cm LARP weapon modeled after Norse designs. Its crescent-shaped head features a 36 cm curved edge and is secured by a golden plate to a weathered wood-textured haft. A sculpted pommel and split-leather wrapped 25 cm handle provide grip and realism. Built from closed-cell foam around a fiberglass core with a latex finish, this axe is durable, safe, and battle-ready.

History
Axes were the weapon of common Norse warriors—affordable, effective, and devastating in war, from small throwing axes to great Dane axes that broke shield walls.
